DanceAspen expands, welcomes three new dancers for winter season
This winter, three new artists — Michaella Ho, Paulio Sóvári, and Nicole Bui — will join DanceAspen for the 2024/25 season in advance of the company’s Feb. 15-16 performance, “Embers Glow,” at the Wheeler Opera House.
DanceAspen hosts 3rd annual Gala, Old Hollywood style
DanceAspen’s 3rd Annual Gala revolves around the golden era of Hollywood, blending classic Hollywood elegance with contemporary dance. So, gentlemen, don your sleek suit, tuxedo, or fedora, and ladies, slip into a glamourous evening gown.
This year’s theme partially emerged from Gail Weinglass’ love of Old Hollywood; DanceAspen is honoring Gail and Boogie Weinglass for all of their support backing the relatively new company.

DanceAspen joined in on the Food & Wine Classic craze on Friday by hosting its “Take Flight” performance in the garden outside the Hotel Jerome.
On top of the short dance routines, guests took part in a wine tasting through Grounded Wine Co. Its head man, Josh Phelps, and DanceAspen founder Laurel Winton paired a particular wine with a specific dance, ending with the classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
Take Flight
DanceAspen and The Grounded Wine Co. teamed up at the Hotel Jerome courtyard on Friday for a performance that combined four dances combining the passion, creativity and artistry of dance with the similar qualities found in wine.
Contemporary ballet company DanceAspen to perform in Colorado Springs
DanceAspen will bring “Limitless” to Ent Center for the Arts on Friday.
Seven dancers will present four pieces that recently premiered in Aspen, including the evening’s featured 22-minute work “Cloudline,” choreographed by Robyn Mineko Williams for Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago.

DanceAspen debuts ‘Solstice’ showcase
DanceAspen, a nonprofit contemporary dance company, will premiere its first summer showcase at the Wheeler Opera House on Aug. 25 and 26. This performance, titled “Solstice,” will feature work from world-renowned and award-winning choreographers Matthew Neenan of Philadelphia Ballet and Cayetano Soto of Barcelona, Spain. Audiences can also expect to see an all-time favorite piece by Australian ballet dancer Danielle Rowe.
DanceAspen ends summer on a high note with ‘Take Flight’ and ‘Solstice’
When DanceAspen first reached out to Christel Stiver, wine director at the Hotel Jerome, about pairing wine with dance, she wasn’t sure what to think.
“I raised my eyebrows at first”, said Stiver. “It’s a unique and first-time experience for me, but I was very excited to have the chance to get creative.”
