re:imagine - A Sneak Peek with Emilie Leriche

Join us on the Aspen Art Museum rooftop for an exclusive preview of re:imagine, DanceAspen’s upcoming production premiering February 21-22. Audience members will get a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s World Premiere by Princess Grace winner, Emilie Leriche. Her working title is “Of Field”, based on a Mark Strand poem.

"In response to the theme of “Classics, Reimagined”, I propose a physical analysis and deconstruction of Mark Strand’s poem “Keeping Thing Whole”. I have for many years now related to my work as one might relate to poetry and prose; movement as the language, choreography as paragraphs and chapters. Strand’s poem is a piece of text I have carried with me for many years - a piece of art that manages to explain a bit of myself, to myself. Of Field will be a physical attempt to embody and dialogue with Strand’s words - perhaps at times to turn them upside down or inside out. Using movement as a way to flush out the emotions and intentions within the poem, we will carve a deeper understanding of Strand’s words, and thus (I hope) ourselves as well.” - Emilie Leriche

This special event offers a rare opportunity to engage with the artistic journey—exploring the movement, vision, and inspiration behind this new work. Witness the intersection of dance and creativity in a unique, immersive setting. No tickets necessary.
